Attending professional conferences is incredibly important for event rental business owners. Being in the same room with like-minded event pros can be a catalyst for growth in your business and for your personal life. That’s why I so thoroughly enjoyed attending Be Sage Conference with Sage Wedding Pros.
I had SO many takeaways from the experience and want to share a few with you.
Collaboration Trumps Competition
Amidst fantastic presentations from the likes of Beth Helmstetter, Kelly Simants, Michelle Edgemont, and Kelly Marie Thompson, I was struck by a dramatically open vibe at Be Sage. These wedding pros have learned a million lessons the hard way. They’ve developed systems for their craft and secrets to their success. They have lost money on projects. They have struggled. They have emerged, but not without the scars most business owners gain along the way.
And instead of hoarding that costly knowledge, they shared it. Freely. Openly. With enthusiasm and encouragement.
I was so impressed that these speakers shared so generously with the attendees of Be Sage Conference, some of whom do the “same thing” in their exact same market.
But they weren’t threatened that their competitors might know how they run their businesses. Instead, they drew strength from their uniqueness and didn’t worry that someone else will do it “just like them.”
What a gift it is to be among people who prioritize collaboration over competition!
Stick around because I’ll be sharing more insights from my Be Sage experience over the next few days but for now, here are a few beautiful photos of the conference from the very talented and lovely Barbie Hull.
